15 Seconds of Silly, Embarrassing Courage
The end of March is finally around the corner, welcoming spring with the month of April. The most refreshing thing about April in my opinion is not its constant showers, but new beginnings. The season of spring symbolizes new beginnings and “rebirth”. It invites us to take a leap of faith, accompanied by the budding flowers and drizzles.
I could not be more pleased to allow Mother Earth to embrace us with a second chance. Growing up, when I was in a time of doubt or on the brink of change, I was once told "what if you just give yourself 15 seconds of embarrassing, insane courage?"
That question held so much truth. 15 seconds: all you need is 15 seconds of insane, embarrassing, brave courage, and well you can do anything.
Most of the time we miss out on opportunites because we let our fear get in the way. We let opportunities we once had in our grasp slip away, leaving us with regret: an emotion that motivates us to learn from our mistakes.Fear is an obstacle we have to overcome, it is not apart of ourselves or our identity. All you need this spring to embrace your own new beginning is just 15 seconds of silly, crazy, embarrassing, and perfectly acceptable courage. Remember that fear is just an obstacle and regret has no place in a new beginning. This spring embrace your own 15 seconds, and go after what life has in store for you because your happiness holds greater importance than what you have to lose in those 15 seconds.
